Simply jump in the car, hop on a bus or take a tour and within minutes you'll be exploring the history of Lanzarote's violent, eruptive past in the Timanfaya National Park. Travel through the wine regions to explore how wine is made and be amazed at the farming techniques used. As you travel through the island you will come across statues and art on many roundabouts and crossroads. Some of these are from the famous architect, artist and sculptor Cesar Manrique. Look out for the Cesar Manrique foundation, a visit is well worth while to experience his life, his art and to wander through his home built into the lava flow.
